Town Hall on Health Care
/In Sitka?
Join healthcare providers, citizens, and hopefully our elected senators at Sheet'ká Ḵwáan Naa Kahídi for a Town Hall meeting to learn more about the Senate Healthcare Bill and what it would mean for Sitkans. Healthcare providers and community leaders will speak about the impact of the bill on health care costs and services in Alaska, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and share stories and concerns. We have invited Senator Murkowski and Senator Sullivan to attend and hope they will come and listen to their constituents' concerns.
- Date and time: Friday July 7th, 5 pm to 6 PM
- Facebook page for the event: click here
- This is inspired and encouraged by: The Town Hall Project.
Why are we involved?
In our mission, we state that one of our goals is "to to delve into contemporary issues and articulate experiences, struggles and aspirations to inspire reflection and action." Health care is an important issue and so we're helping organize dialogue and collecting stories of how the Affordable Care Act has worked and how it hasn't. And we want to know about issues people have with the current bill. "
